CU Harrodsburg defeated the Owls of Warren Wilson 82-68 behind 27 points from Oriona Woods.
Woods also contributed eight rebounds and four assists in the victory.
E'moni Washington (12 points, six rebounds) and Makala Smith (12 points, nine rebounds) were the other two Lady Pioneers in double figures. Alyssa Roberts (8), Kelynn Clay (7), Dymond Smith (5) and Caleia Mills (5) combined for 25 points to carry a balanced performance for CU Harrodsburg.
Warren Wilson was forced into 25 turnovers in the contest, leading to 25 points off turnovers for the Lady Pioneers.
CU Harrodsburg found most of their offense inside the paint, as the three point shot was not falling easy for the Lady Pioneers, shooting 2-13 as a team from beyond the arc on the evening.
Despite the outside shots not falling, the Lady Pioneers shot 46% from the field, holding Warren Wilson to 33% from the field.
Warren Wilson outscored CU Harrodsburg 20-15 in the first quarter, holding a seven point lead in the late moments of the first. It would be all Lady Pioneers afterwards, with CU building a 15 point lead in the late moments of the fourth quarter and holding on for the victory.
Woods would score eight of her 27 in the fourth to put the game away for the Lady Pioneers.
