The Pioneers men's soccer team will be kicking off their spring season today as the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders reserves come to the Hilpp Family Field. Today's match will mean more for the players than just the game of soccer.
The Pioneers will be taking the pitch for the first time since the loss of one of their assistant coaches Garrett Stark in a tragic car accident. Emotions will be running high for the Pioneers soccer team as many of them have been coached by Stark even prior to being a Pioneer.
This is the first game of the short spring season for the Pioneers, after having success on the pitch in the fall where they made the semi-final of the conference tournament.
The Pioneers will play one conference opponent this spring as they will take on the Bulldogs out of Boyce College in Louisville. They will play once at home on the March 20th and once on the road April 3rd.
The Pioneers are excited to start the spring season today.
