The Harrodsburg Pioneers rebounded in a big way just one day after falling to Great Lakes Christian Crusaders. The Pioneers Friday afternoon defeated defending national champions and current #8 team in the country Grace Christian Tigers 84-71.
This is the second time that the Pioneers knocked off defending national champions this season. The Pioneers are starting to put all the hard work and dedication that has come over the past three years in building the program up together and it is showing.
Head Coach Austin Sparrow has made a significant turnaround since taking over last season and looks to continue that success as the season moves forward.
The Pioneers had 5 players in double figures this game Chris Rawlins the team's leading scorer had 22 points and 7 rebounds today. Tyron Duncan 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks in his efforts today. Terrence McDaniels Jr. had 12 points, 5 rebounds in the win. Aamaj Platt with 11 points and Mason Blair with 10 points both helped the Pioneers off the bench.
The Pioneers who sit at 5-5 overall on the season now and 3-1 in conference play will now turn their focus to rival CU-Somerset as they will visit the Harrodsburg Athletic Complex Monday night at 7PM.
