Coming off a loss to the Alice Lloyd Eagles Saturday night at home the Pioneers will look to rebound on the road this week. The first game of this road trip will be against UC-Clermont.
While UC-Clermont is a short drive down the road for the Pioneers who would typically travel a strong crowd to this road game, UC-Clermont isn't allowing fans to home events.
UC-Clermont who finished last season with an Elite Eight loss to Vermont Tech in the USCAA national tournament are playing their first game this season tonight after COVID-19 caused them to not play in the fall. The Pioneers are searching for their first win against UC-Clermont in program history after falling to them the previous two times both coming last season.
Pioneers will be led on the floor tonight by the nations 14th leading scorer Chris Rawlins and behind their nations 6th ranked defense. The 3-3 Pioneers will look to be able to get over the .500 mark once again this season.
This nine-game road trip will tell a lot about the Pioneers as they will also face off against conference opponents in Great Lakes, Grace Christian, Boyce, and Johnson. They will also face off against tough opponents out the NCCAA South Region in Bob Jones and Toccoa Falls. They will also have one game against rival Somerset before returning home on January 30th.
