Devin Baker found his shot early against Lee University on Wednesday evening, scoring 23 points on 9-16 shooting. While the Pioneers found a spark in their junior guard, they couldn't finish the NCAA road trip with a victory, falling to the Flames 94-72.
Baker scored eight of the Pioneers first ten points, finding his tempo from the mid-range early in the game. Baker would also find his shot from deep, knocking down four three-point field goals on the evening.
Jamal Weaver continued his impressive scoring streak, adding 18 points and nine rebounds for the Pioneers.
Antoine Darby would add 12 points, three rebounds and three assists on the night for CU Harrodsburg, finding his touch in the second half.
Freshman Jaheim Mullins would earn his first varsity minutes of the season, posting eight points in nine minutes of action.
After competition against Nicholls State, McNeese State, Kentucky State and Lee University over the last week and a half, the Pioneers head to the break 4-5 overall. They will have time to recover from a tough road stretch to open the season, as their next contest pits them against Mideast conference member Great Lakes Christian College on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020.
