The CU-Harrodsburg Pioneers will open up their first regional play in the NCCAA Mid-East region this Thursday night when they look to take on the Simmons College Flacons. In the first year of Mid-East play the Pioneers will have a chance to compete for a region title.
The Pioneers and Falcons have faced off twice this season, with the Falcons coming out on top both times. The last time the Falcons spoiled the home opener for the Pioneers by the final score of 66-64.
The Pioneers will be the 5th seed in the Mid-East and the Falcons will be the 4th seed. The Pioneers our out looking for payback on the Falcons after having their home opener in the brand-new facility spoiled.
The Pioneers won their final game of the season against rival CU-Somerset looking to carry the moment into the post season and make a run to get to the national tournament. The Simmons College Falcons fell to CU-Somerset in their second to last game of the season.
The winner of this game will have a tough opponent when they go on to face defending national champion and number 1 seed Grace Christian Tigers in the semi-finals. The other side of the bracket will have Great Lakes Christian facing off against Welch College in and 3-6 seed match up. Then Johnson Royals taking on the Boyce Bulldogs in a 2-7 seed match up.
