Pioneers Fall to Defending National Champions in Final Home Game

Today the Harrodsburg Pioneers took on the Grace Christian Tigers in the final home game of the regular season. The Pioneers fell to the Tigers by the final score of 87-60.

The Pioneers who were outrebounded at the half 27-7 were missing a key contributor today in Antione Darby. However, the Pioneers still had Jamal Weaver who led the team in scoring with 14 points and also rebounding with 5 rebounds.

Marquise Dorsey came off the bench with a big 11 points today and also registered in 3 steals and 3 rebounds to go with that. Dorsey who has found a consistent role with the team looks to continue to add to his performances of late moving into conference tournament.

Demondre Young was the only other Pioneer in double figures as he scored 10 points.

Next up for the Pioneers is a trip to Somerset for the final regular season game of the year. The Pioneers will have an opportunity to defeat rival CU Somerset on their home floor to end the regular season before heading into conference tournament.

The Pioneers will head to the conference tournament in Gallatin, TN at Welch College looking to compete for the conference championship. Having played every team but Welch twice the Pioneers will have a good idea of what to expect from teams.
