Last night the Harrodsburg Pioneers traveled to Oakland City, IN to take on the Might Oaks of the Oakland City University. The Pioneers went in the game coming off a win against the Boyce Bulldogs that past Saturday. The Mighty Oaks controlled the entire game and didn't take long to take a big lead. The efforts from the Pioneers didn't fall short but the Pioneers were out matched in a game with a NCAA Division 2 opponent.
The Pioneers were led in scoring by the Shadarno Clarke who posted a double-double putting up 20-points and 10-rebounds in the game. Jamal Weaver added in 17-points this game and was the second leading scorer in the game for the Pioneers. However, it wasn't enough for the Pioneers as they were beat 106-66 by the Mighty Oaks. The Pioneers who gave up 59% shooting from the floor while only shooting 38.6%. The Pioneers were out rebounded 47-31 and lost the assist battle 33-14.
Up next for the Pioneers will be a trip to Cincinnati when they face UC-Clermont this coming Saturday February 1st at 3pm. The Pioneers who haven't been at full force almost all season look to bounce back and pick up their 2nd win in 3 games. UC-Clermont won in Harrodsburg earlier this year by one when the Pioneers only played with 5 players.
