The Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Pioneers fell to the number one ranked team in the country Tuesday night as the Great Lakes Christian Crusaders won by a final score of 95-85.
The Pioneers, led by one of the NCCAA’s top scorers in Jamal Weaver, posted a 29-point performance to lead the game in scoring. Antione Darby had his highest scoring night since his return from injury with 19 points. Shadarno Clarke returned to the lineup and posted 11 points.
The Pioneers struggled from distance, shooting 4-24 from deep, an out of character performance for CU Harrodsburg as they are amongst the nation's top three-point shooting teams.
The Pioneers will get another chance at Great Lakes when they travel to the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Athletic Facility on Friday, Jan. 17th. With the loss, CU Harrodsburg drops to 4-6 on the season, but will quickly have the opportunity to pick up a much-needed win against Andrews University on Wednesday. In their previous meeting, the Pioneers defeated Andrews 100-73.
