Women's Cross-Country Picks up Local Commit

The Pioneers women's cross-country team has picked up a big commit recently, Hannah Powell. Powell who is a native of Danville and was a cross-country runner for Boyle County High School will join former Boyle County runner and current Pioneers Hunter Ellis and Micah Brown.

Powell will join the Lady Pioneers who look to build of the momentum of her commitment and hope that it springs the women's cross-country team forward into next fall. Cross-Country is one of the growing programs in Harrodsburg but in an area that has a lot of talented runner the program should continue to grow and gaining a center piece in Powell will be able to build off this and continue to get big time runners in the program.

Head Coach Brian Tribble "Powell is accustomed to running in the big races that we run in and will be able to come in and be able to help us compete in the NCCAA right away." Powell who has competed in the same races such as the Louisville Classic that the Pioneers have also ran in.

Powell is excited to be able to be a Pioneer saying "I am excited to be able to run for the Pioneers at the college level. Staying close to home is important to me and running at the college level this close to home is something I look forward to."

Powell will the women's cross-country team this next fall and will look to make an impact and help lead the Pioneers over the next four seasons.
