Caleb Burrows announced his commitment to the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg men's basketball program on Sunday. He becomes the first commitment for the 2020 class for Austin Sparrow's Pioneers.
Burrows is coming off his best season yet for the Galilean Christian Academy, averaging 25 points and five assists in his senior campaign. The 6'2" Burrows is as impressive with his efficiency as he is his averages. His senior campaign boasts a 80% average from the free throw line and an impressive 70% field goal percentage from the NCSA. Caleb's performances during his time with Galilean Christian earned him National Player of the Year honors with the NACA. Burrows was also a two time NACA All American and a NAAPS All American. Galilean Christian was fueled by play from Burrows this season, as he and Lee Van Lew contributed to a national runner up performance in 2019, with Burrows leading Galilean all the way to the 2020 NACA Division III National Championship.
During his time at Galilean, he reached the 1,000 point club in his senior season, after an impressive junior campaign saw Burrows score 528 points in the season.
"Caleb has great vision, athletic ability and is willing to be coached each night," said Austin Sparrow, head coach for the Pioneers. "He is an outstanding young man that has all the intangibles we are looking for to continue building our program."
While Burrows will have to wait for this fall for his on court debut, he's already grown comfortable with the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Athletic Facility floor, as he competed against the JV Pioneers late this season for Galilean Christian. Burrows posted 41 points on the evening including the critical free throws at the end to steal the victory from the JV Pioneers.
Caleb Burrows arrives at CU Harrodsburg as an outstanding athlete, but also noted is his commitment to Christ and excellence in the classroom. Burrows has excelled in his time at Galilean Christian, a program that thrives on commitment to character, education and faith. Shadarno Clarke and Lee Van Lew are also alumni to the Galilean Christian program.
Burrows plans to study Sports Management.
