Harrodsburg Clashes with FNU in Miami

The CU Harrodsburg Lady Tigers traveled to South Florida to take on #5 Florida National in a two game series this weekend.
In both games, Harrodsburg started off hot in the first half jumping out to early leads, they led at half in the second game.
Oriona Woods led the way for Harrodsburg in the first meeting with 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Makayla Smith added 14 points and six rebounds. The Tigers started the game on a 10-0 run but found themselves trailing 35-36 at the half. 
FNU started hot in the second half, leading 64-46 after the third quarter. The Lady Conquistadors continued their run in the fourth quarter as they won 96-66. 
"I have always preached games are won and lost in the first 3 mins of the second half," said Head Coach Brian Tribble. 
In the rematch, Harrodsburg came out strong, but FNU was ready as well. The teams found themselves in a back and forth battle. Oriona Woods and Nia Sheckles both contributed 16 points, Alyssa Roberts added 14 points. 
The Lady Conquistadors and Lady Tigers found themselves in a battle as Harrodsburg led 50-46, but an explosion from FNU led to 31 points in the fourth quarter to Harrodsburg's 16, resulting in a 77-66 final score. 
"We played very well, we had to learn that it's not just about having a good time, we have to take care of business first, but it was a great trip all around. I look forward to coming back," said Oriona Woods.
The Lady Tigers look to finish the regular season strong in a home exhibition against the University of Kentucky Women's Club team on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in Harrodsburg before taking off for post season competition.
