CU Harrodsburg women's basketball opens up program history with win over PSU Fayette

Campbellsville University Harrodsburg began the program history with the USCAA Tip-Off Classic in Lamont Furnace, PA. First for the Tigers was a game against host Penn State Fayette. The Maroon and White used an up tempo attack to score in bunches throughout the game. Combined with a stifling defense in the second and third quarters secured the win for the Tigers. CU Harrodsburg runs away with the victory, 98-52.

Oriona Woods led the Maroon and White in scoring with 17 points and eight rebounds. Curtshonna Cannon followed as a starter with 14 points. Nia Sheckles had a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. From the bench came 43 points from Alyssa Roberts with 13 and Zariah Kavanaugh with 14. Makayla Smith was the leading scorer from the bench with 16 points.

"Our team truly rose to our first USCAA opponent," said Brian Tribble, head women's basketball coach at CU Harrodsburg. "We were able to distribute the ball around and really "share the sugar" as nearly all players scored in double figures. We continue to make defense our identity as we work to turn teams over and score in transition."

The Tigers conclude the USCAA Tip-Off Classic with a game against NCAA Division II Bluefield State College on November 10.
